Not being a snooty Edon-educated member of the Bullingdon Club, it's rare that I get kicked out of a restaurant. But when you've sat for several hours in a restaurant as popular as Sous Le Nez, you eventually politely get asked to leave as they have another booking.

There are a lot of good steak restaurants in Leeds. Then there is Blackhouse.
It's in a league of it's own. I'm told that Gaucho is quite a contendor, and I must confess I haven't had change to eat there yet, but they have something special to beat. While I normally enjoy evening meals here, today I decided to drop in for lunch - somewhat encouraged by their special offer of 40% off at lunch times. Unfortunately this doesn't apply to the £50 Kobe steak, or that would be a tough decision to make indeed.

We're pleased to announce the re-launch of KnowLeeds.co.uk!
We first launched the website in 2006 and at the time it contained a comprehensive listings of bars, clubs, restaurants and other attractions in Leeds City Centre. It has since become somewhat out of date though and so we decided to re-develop the site with more of a focus on content - we wanted to say not just what was available but what our favourite spots in the city were. After all, any site can produce venue listings, but we're actually here in Leeds living it, and so know the best places to go.
Welcome to Know Leeds! We first developed the site in 2006 as a guide to the best places to go in Leeds City Centre and have since re-developed the site to focus more on quality content and venue reviews. You can find a venue you're looking for by using the listings or by using the search facility, or just browse through the latest reviews until you find something that looks worth a visit.

Fruity, the big student night at Leeds University Union is free this Friday as part of the "thanks for another great year" (aka, all the freshers have gone home and we need to fill the venue), it's even quite enough to get on the dance floor at the moment so well worth going down.

After some time sitting around doing very little other than some testing we have launched the site. It doesn't have everything we originally intended but if you have ever worked on a website project you will know that it never does :D.
So yes, we are live with the guide, enjoy!
